Top Heavy?

An autorickshaw carrying of a load (of mattresses?). Bicycles, autorickshaws, scooters, buses all sharing the same road. "Mininum clearance" is not in feet, but in inches or centimeters, if at all. Almost all cars are dented or scratched. Horns blare incessantly, not only to overtake but also to let others know of their existence.

"Natives who beat drums to drive off evil spirits are objects of scorn to smart Americans who blow horns to break up traffic jams." -Mary Ellen Kelly

Hey there! Thanks for your comments! Sorry taken so long, my computer at times goes strange and for some reason I can't do comments.. I can't remember what her name is (the buddhist statue) but she is holding a lotus bud... As for the walking on fire, it was an interesting experience, more because of the atmosphere, the monks where chanting non stop and burning names. You pay/donate and they write your name on pieces of wood which are then burnt to purify you, it was at a buddhist temple, but the boundaries between buddhism and shintoism are sometimes unclear, as at one point they merged only to be separated again...all a bit confusing... I didn't notice anything in particular, but i do feel i am having a very lucky year so far....

Soon silence will have passed into legend. Man has turned his back on silence. Day after day he invents machines and devices that increase noise and distract humanity from the essence of life, contemplation, meditation. Tooting, howling, screeching, booming, crashing, whistling, grinding, and trilling bolster his ego.

@xntricpundits - Apt quote! I think this has already happened here. There is rarely any silence, except between 2-4 am. Even when I used to go for a morning walk, I can hear the water pumps turned on in all the buildings, so it is not quiet at all as it used to be before they turned the individual houses into apartment buildings. It takes all the fun out of the walk....
